Today most societies are run by Big Business (BB). Its supporters claim they defend Freedom against oppression by Big Government (BG). They describe 20th century history as a series of struggles for Freedom against BG oppression. Actually all 20th century major wars - WW1, WW2, colonial wars, the "Cold War", the Vietnam War - were waged by BB for power and profits. "Freedom" is "living by one's own decisions". "Power" is "deciding for others". BB and BG crave Power, not Freedom. Power castrates real Freedom replacing it by illusory freedom. It allows citizens to decide who will decide for them.

WW1 caused revolution in Russia enabling Lenin to set up his big government (BG) in 1917. He named it: "Union of Soviet Socialist Republics" (USSR). Lenin ruled: All Power - to my Party’s leaders. His BG was a one-party State, where Party leaders decided all policies. Criticizing leaders or policies was forbidden. Strikes and free Unions were banned. The economy was planned and run by State officials. Its profits provided guaranteed employment, state-paid housing, healthcare, education, and pensions, to all citizens. Many thought this would end oppression. It did not. BG leaders banished anyone suspected of opposing them and banned strikes and free unions. They decided what books, films, plays, paintings, and music citizens are allowed to read, see, or hear. After WW2 BG states were set up in many countries. BB leaders feared that BG might motivate the poor and unemployed in BB states to replace BB by BG. They waged a "Cold War" against BG (1946-1991) to prevent this. BG leaders, being Marxists, expected all BB states to collapse due to economic crises causing revolutions to replace BB by BG. They saw no point in attacking BB. BB states suffered repeated economic crises but did not collapse. Instead, in 1991 Lenin’s BG - and all European BGs - dissolved themselves. Their citizens refuse to revive them and created multi-party states to solve their problems. They did not. Today most people everywhere resent BB, BG, RR (rule by representatives) and all political parties. They tolerate them only because they see no other way to run society. This creates dead-end politics as people resent all political systems but do nothing to replace them. The time is ripe for a post-parliamentary democracy based on the principle: Every citizen - one vote - on every issue of society. No elections. This abolishes political power, the cause of political corruption, and creates political equality - the cause of freedom in politics.

This is possible today and is the only cure to the inevitable ills of BB, BG, and RR.
